About John Ferretti

John Ferretti is a proven tax cutter and trusted leader running for Hempstead Town Supervisor. As a Nassau County Legislator, Ferretti has earned a reputation as an effective advocate for taxpayers—delivering meaningful tax relief while standing strong for public safety and Long Islanders’ priorities.

Ferretti has never voted for a tax increase during his tenure as a public official. Instead, he led the charge to cut county taxes by $70 million and successfully blocked $150 million in scheduled tax hikes, which were contained in the previous County Executive’s multi-year budget. His record speaks for itself: John believes government must live within its means, just like hardworking families do every day.

Ferretti’s taxpayer-first approach is matched by his unwavering commitment to community safety. He played a key role in making Nassau County the safest county in America by boosting police presence, investing in cutting-edge technology, reopening a shuttered police precinct, and defeating efforts to remove ICE agents from the Nassau County Correctional Facility, which would have exposed neighbors to the release of dangerous gang members and criminals. John also worked closely with Town of Hempstead officials to enhance police patrols at houses of worship during holy days and holidays.

John Ferretti has taken a strong stand against antisemitism and all hate, co-authoring legislation like the Mask Transparency Act, which prevents individuals from concealing their identity while intimidating and terrorizing others. He believes every resident deserves to feel safe and respected—regardless of background.

A strong voice for suburban communities, Ferretti has been on the frontlines, succesfully pushing back against Governor Hochul’s Urban Housing Plan, which would have crammed high-rise, high density, New York City-style apartment housing alongside our single-family suburban homes.

Before entering elected office, Ferretti served as Chief Deputy County Clerk, where he helped manage a department of over 100 employees and oversaw the collection of more than $240 million annually. He also helped draft legislation to waive fees for Superstorm Sandy victims, demonstrating his belief that government should step up—not add burdens—when families need help the most.

Rooted in family and community, John lives just two doors down from the house where he grew up, with his wife Maryellen and their children. He’s a lector at St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church, a proud member of the Levittown Kiwanis, the Chamber of Commerce, the Knights of Columbus, and the Sons of Italy—and he’s coached Little League, too. For Ferretti, this isn’t just a place to live. It’s home.

John Ferretti is ready to bring his tax-cutting mindset, fiscal discipline, and community-first values to Hempstead Town Hall—because Long Island families deserve a leader who will deliver real tax relief while keeping families safe.
